FELLOWSHIP

Lydia Ladies Aid

There is a group of women who meet monthly for devotions, prayer, fellowship, and seeking ways to help provide support for things that are needed in the church building. When there is a funeral or a wedding, the Lydia Ladies and others can offer a fine meal for those who come to use our church building. For many years the Lydia Ladies Aid hold a Fall Harvest Bazaar here to raise money for special
projects. They are generous in helping Josephine Caring Community and other programs and projects in need of funding. The group meets at 1:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall the 3rd Thursday of the month. All are welcome to the meetings.

Women’s Quilting Group

Once a month several women gather to make quilts for those who do not have a blanket to call their own. No sewing skills are required as the quilt borders and backing are already sewn. Tying the quilts at the monthly meeting adds the finishing touch. They are given to people in need both here in the United States and in countries with few resources. Quilting has been a long-standing project in many Lutheran churches around the country. Lutheran World Relief is grateful for all the quilts that are sent in every year.

Coffee Hour

Weekly after worship the Fellowship Hall downstairs is buzzing with conversations. Join us meeting newcomers, and sharing in a great spread of goodies, coffee and tea. There always seems to be some baked goods, cheese, fruits and vegetables. On special occasions there may be a cake. Often fresh vegetables and fruits from parishioners gardens are there for the taking.Discussion, fellowship and learning about others strengthens the bond within our church.
FALL HARVEST DINNER: With the bounty of vegetables in the fall, a delicious meal is made featuring squash, green beans and ham. The meal includes a roll, beverage and dessert. Come share a tasty meal with your friends and neighbors. Watch for the date in the newsletter. Free will offering that is given to the Conway school to buy turkeys for needy families in the community.

Pastor Fritschel Christmas Auction & Dinner

The first Saturday in December is usually the date set for this fun celebration. Bring a potluck dish and a wrapped gift for the auction. Always a wonderful evening as the bidding gets very competitive. Much laughter and fellowship for all who come. Proceeds benefit Neighbors in Need Food Bank and the Oasis Teen Shelter.

Soup Suppers

On Wednesdays nights during Lent we have Soup Suppers. All are invited to join in a meal of soup and bread. You may sign up to make soup, bread or to serve the meal. Then come upstairs afterwards for the Lenten Service. Often we use the Holden Evening Prayer liturgy.  It is a special time of worship and fellowship.

Yearly Birthday Party

A birthday party for everyone in the congregation, including visitors. People are invited to sit at the table assigned to their birthday month. Meet others who share your birthday season, eat cake and ice cream together. Who doesn’t love a party?

Pie Auction

This is a delightful and delicious fund-raising event. All kinds of pies are lovingly prepared and donated for the auction. Fruit pies, cream pies and even quiche pies! Bidders raise their paddles for their favorite ones. Will you get the one you want? Will you be outbid? Will you share the pie? So much fundraising fun! Check the church calendar for event dates.
